So this sounds like a dare that more artists should definitely take seriously.
Going to a concert is pretty damn expensive these days. One of the infuriating things is when you go to purchase a ticket online and get stuck with a bunch of mystery fees.
Comedian Louis C.K. wasn't going to have it and decided to sell tickets to his tour on his website himself for a flat rate of $45. It worked out awesomely and the comedian tweeted last night: "After 45 hours, my tour has sold 100K tickets, box office gross of 4.5 mil $ (not all mine)".
So with all this self-selling going on, what do you think Ticketmaster has to say about that? They say more artists should be doing it.
According to Gawker, Ticketmaster's CEO Nathan Hubbard tweeted: "We love what @LouisCK is doing and support it. [W]ish more people had the stones to do all-in ticketing."
Whatttt???? That totally sounds like a double dog dare to me. Any stars wanna prove they have "the stones" to ditch Ticketmaster and StubHub and sell their fans tickets they can actually afford?
Probably not, but it's a great idea in this fantasy world I call my own head.
