"The Voice" is returning for it's 123 season (not really but it sometimes feels that way) and this new promo shows the competition will probably be pretty fierce this season - or at least damn dramatic.
The battle for the greatest new singer in America begins again February 23 when The Voice returns to NBC.
Who doesn't love an awesome freebie?
For a limited time only, Google Play is giving away a free download of Blake Shelton's most recent album, "Bringing Back The Sunshine."
Looks like Blake Shelton's "Saturday Night Live" gig was just the beginning of his acting career.
Netflix recently announced that they had signed an exclusive four-movie deal with funny man Adam Sandler. Now we have details about Sandler's first upcoming movie with the streaming giant, and it's set to star one of country's biggest names.
According to TheWrap (via Coming Soon), Blake Shelton has joined the cast of the comedy western called "Ridiculous 6," which will also star Taylor Swift ex Taylor Lautner, Nick Nolte, comedienne Whitney Cummings, Luke Wilson, Steve Zahn, Carrie Underwood lover Danny Trejo, Chris Parnell and Lavell Crawford, Steve Buscemi, Rob Schneider, Dan Aykroyd, Will Forte, Nick Swardson, Terry Crews, Jon Lovitz and Vanilla Ice.
Now that's an eclectic cast.
Here's the plot for Ridiculous 6 according to ComingSoon.net:
Sandler will play man who grew up as an orphan among an Indian tribe. Lautner, Schneider, Wilson and Crews are poised to play his half-brothers, while the final half-brother has yet to be cast. Nolte will play Sandler’s long-lost father; Parnell a bankmanager; Lovitz a wealthy industrialist and Cummings his flirtatious wife. Forte and Trejo will play the leaders of rival gangs, while Buscemi will play a local jack-of-all-trades. Shelton is in line to play Wyatt Earp, while Vanilla Ice has been tipped to play Mark Twain.
Blake Shelton as Wyatt Earp? Well he's no Kurt Russell, but he'll definitely do.
No word on when you'll be able to stream Ridiculous 6, but we'll definitely update you as soon as we find out.
Well he did it. Blake hosted and performed as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live for the very first time last night and by all accounts, the man killed it.
According to Deadline, Blake also helped SNL's ratings with a 15% bump in households watching compared to last week.
So good on Blake.
If you were like me and didn't catch the show last night, you can watch the full episode below.
I know this story has made its rounds and you're probably as tired of hearing about it as I am writing about it. But, and there is a but, there was a new turn in the American Sniper drama when Blake Shelton told TMZ that even though he hasn’t actually seen the movie, he has no problem speaking out against the film’s critics.
“I defend our military,” Blake told a paparazzo as he got into a limo outside 30 Rock, where he’ll host Saturday Night Live this weekend. “I don’t like people that talk some sh*t about our military, no matter what arm or leg it is.”
This of course comes hot off the heels of the tweet Blake sent out, more or less, calling out Seth Rogen for his tweet about the film that made it seem as though Rogen was comparing the film to movies that celebrate hate. (Rogen has since clarified that was not what he meant.)
“I want to see the movie real bad,” Blake told the photographer, between signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans.
Blake's schedule is certainly jam packed so can't say I blame him for not seeing the movie. But do you think he should've at least seen the movie before running his mouth?

Blake Shelton visited "The Tonight Show" last night and fans found out two things about the singer that they might not have known before:
Funny stuff.
Blake Shelton talked to E! and gave them some insight on what it's really like leading up to his highly anticipated SNL gig coming up.
Considering he's not only hosting but performing we are sure there are some nerves associated with the big appearance.
"I don't know which one I'm more nervous about," the 38-year-old country singer told E! News this week while prepping for Saturday's show. "I grew up obviously, like all of us did, watching this show and because I'm an artist, I'm a country singer, that was always my dream is to get a chance to sing on this show."
Miranda won't be in the building while he tapes SNL. Which he isn't sure if it's a good or bad thing.
"I think there's a little part of Miranda that's really worried about this. I mean, just to be completely honest," he dished. Why's that?
"Miranda's always the one when we're at parties or something and I'm being funny and I start taking it too far into gross land or whatever, she's the one that's always like, ‘Blake! Blake, stop it.' She won't be here when we do this and there won't be anybody," he added. "She's like a stage mom and she won't be here to go, ‘Oh, I really don't think you should do that.'
Chhheck out the interview below.
One thing is for certain....we can't wait to see what high jinks Mr.Shelton gets into!

Blake Shelton certainly isn't one to keep his mouth shut on topics he is passionate about. And even a topic as controversial as the movie American Sniper couldn't keep him from telling the world how he felt.
In typical Blake fashion, he let the world know where he stands:
The based-on-a-true-story movie has garnered some hate from actor Seth Rogan, whose tweet spurred some backlash when he said the movie reminded him of another movie that promoted hate. He has since offered an explanation that the tweet was taken too seriously.
One thing is for sure, there is NO denying what Blake meant with his tweet. And I personally admire him for it.

For those of you who complain how most of today's country music sounds the same, this video that Saving Country Music dug up should serve as your vindication.
Posted under the YouTube username “Sir Mashalot,” the mashup takes six songs—”Sure Be Cool If You Did” by Blake Shelton, “Drunk on You” by Luke Bryan, “Chillin’ It” from Cole Swindell, “Close Your Eyes”by Parmalee, “This is How We Roll” from Florida Georgia Line, and “Ready, Set, Roll” by Chase Rice—and laid them all parallel into a Pro Tools sound file, changing the tempo and pitch slightly in some cases until they all ran at the same speed, and then pushing play. The six songs represent four #1 Bro-Country hits from 2012 until now, a #5 hit in “Ready, Set, Roll,” and a #11 song in Parmalee’s “Close Your Eyes.”
Well all that aside, I'd listen to the six-song mashup on the radio.
I'm a mom of two and a wife of one
