Cledus T. Judd brought the comedy and a blazing shirt to the red carpet at the inaugural American Country Countdown Awards Mon. (Dec. 22). Cracking a joke every step of the way, NashvilleGab caught up with the star to chat about his upcoming music, which includes a Blake Shelton parody of the No. 1 hit "Neon Light." Previously, he made headlines earlier this fall with his hilarious re-invention of "Blurred Lines" (by Robin Thicke, T.I. and Pharrell Williams) called "Luke Bryan." On his next creation: "I'm gonna do another record, sometime in the spring. We'll see if they'll have me back. I have a parody of Blake Shelton's 'Neon Light.' It's called 'There's a Cold Bud Light at the End of the Funnel.' Be looking for that."
Standing at over 50,000 views, the "Luke Bryan" clip was born simply out of a need for entertainment. "Well, you know that 'Blurred Lines' thing was so big and it lent itself to a parody. I wrote it, and, by the grace of god, he won Entertainer of the Year [at the 48th CMA Awards] and it went through the roof...and now I'm walking a red carpet." Judd then teased that another party hit-making duo could be on the radar next. "[Florida Georgia Line are] ripe for the picking. I'll get them eventually," he said.
Of course, he dished on his button-up (which was emblazoned with fire and sparkly studs): "This is a Manuel shirt. He made it for me about five years ago, and I just got it paid for, so he just gave it to me."
