Congratulations to Danny Gokey and his wife Leyicet who are expecting their second baby this winter.
"We recently found out the gender of our baby forming in my wife's stomach. Here's what we found out!!" he captioned a new video (below) on Facebook.
Don't worry if you feel out of the loop, I didn't know he and his wife of two and a half years were expecting either. I went back and looked and did find a recent article in The Tennessean where it was briefly mentioned.
This will be Danny and Leyicet's second baby (and first daughter). Their son, Daniel Emanuel, was born in January of 2013.
Congrats to the growing family.
And speaking of Danny, the singer recently landed a #1 release on the Billboard Christian Charts with his sophomore album, Hope In Front of Me.
Looks like things are really going well for Danny.

Haven't heard much from Danny Gokey lately. Seems he's just been enjoying being a new parent and living his life. Well get ready to hear a whole lot more from Danny because he's back to work on a new album. He posted the photo above to Facebook today, saying:
This is happening now! In the studio cutting the first song for the sophomore album!! 1 song down & 10 more songs to go!!
Back in 2011, Danny lost his deal with RCA Records and 19 Recordings, but signed a new record deal this past May with BMG Records. No word on when fans can expect to hear new music from Danny.
In other news, Danny also has a new book coming out. “Hope in Front of Me” will hit stores this October.
Mazel tov to Danny Gokey who announced this morning via his Facebook that his new wife, Leyicet, is expecting.
Hey guys I'm happy to announce that my wife Leyicet Gokey and I are having a baby!! She a little over 3 months pregnant & due in January!!! We're so excited!

Okay, Danny Gokey didn't actually marry one of the Olsen Twins (you know, the Full House stars/mega gazillionaires, Mary Kate and Ashley), but he did marry a lovely lady named Leyicet Peralta over the weekend who just happens to bear a striking resemblance to the mini moguls, at least in the above picture (in other pictures, not so much).
According to People.com, Danny said "I do" this past Sunday in Florida in front of family and friends.
"We are so thankful to have found each other and now be able to spend the rest of our lives together," the newlyweds tell PEOPLE in a statement. "We pray our gratitude grows more every day because there is so much for us to do now."
Danny was married once before, but lost his first wife Sophia in 2008 after surgery for a congenital heart disease.
In honor of his first wife, Danny has a foundation called Sophia's Heart. Check out more information and/or support Sophia's Heart here.
How'd ya like my play on words there? I tell you, these things just come to me out of thin air like magical little gifts from God.
Ha.
Where was I? Oh yeah, Danny Gokey. As I told you last year, Danny's got an endorsement deal with Wisconsin Vision and two more commercials are now live.
Check 'em and try not to sucked into all the schmoozing.
This week's GAC Top 20 Video countdown about blew me away. At the number 2 position was Bo Bice - You Take Yourself with You. Are you kidding me? Does GAC actually want us to believe this? A boring video (him in a recording studio singing a marginal song) really has all the GAC viewers on the edge of their seats?
I have a job where I get the opportunity to work at home often (Shameless plug -- check out www.corefocushospitality.com). I start most mornings watching ESPN SportsCenter, Mike and Mike in the Morning and then Dan Patrick on DirecTV. By noon most days I have changed to GAC. I then proceed to watch GAC for a minimum of 8 hours a day. I also watch CMT during the 7 minutes a day that they actually show videos, but mostly it is GAC. This weekend when I saw Bo Bice's video it was the FIRST time I had seen the video. Yes the very first time. Eight hours a day watching TV and the first time I see the video is when GAC announces it is the 2nd most popular video on their network today.
I am not so naive or pollyanna to not understand how it works sometimes. Big record executive smoking his cigar says to GAC, "I will give you an exclusive interview with Artist A, IF you play Artist B's new video. I get that and understand that quid pro quo is at work. I refer to this as the "Danny Gokey" Phenomenon.
*Danny Gokey is the ex-American Idol contestant who last summer had one song on Country Radio - A marginal hit - yet was given a prime spot on the Main Stage at the CMA MusicFest. One song and he is on the main stage while other Stars are playing the Waterfront or Bridgestone Stages. (Side note - Miss Willie Brown played at the Courthouse Stage in front of me and about 4 other people and they are 10 times more talented than Danny Gokey!) Other examples of this:
Vallory Music - Can anyone say Jaron and the Long Road to Mediocrity
Toby Keith - Seriously no more acting brother....we love you already dont torture us with the acting
Reba McEntire - Linda Davis? Although Linda Davis did give us Hillary Scott and Lady A, so Reba gets bonus points for looking ahead and realizing the future.
So this week, as your eyes are glued to the TV waiting patiently for that oh so popular video by Bo Bice just remember to not be lead astray by the music executives leading you down the path of mediocre music and instead search out and request for GAC to show some truly talented groups.

How cute is that? Danny Tweeted this adorable picture of he and Josie the be-speckled pooch at Wisconsin Vision's Glendale store yesterday.
Danny was there to meet fans and promote a new charity which will be helping to raise money for free vision checks for kids. You can read more about the charity here and check out more pictures and video of Danny's visit over on IHeartDannyGokey.
Danny Gokey is known for his massively huge collection of eye glasses so what better for him to raise money then by auctioning off a few of those glasses?
Danny has joined Wisconsin Vision to help provide free eye exams and glasses for children in need via the new charity Clear Days Ahead Free Eye Exams and Glasses. Since early October, Gokey fans have been donating used eyeglasses and non-perishable food items at Wisconsin Vision stores throughout the state. Those people who donated got the opportunity to meet Danny today at the vision store's new location in Glendale, Wisconsin.
When Danny showed up today he donated his own glasses to the charity so that they could be auctioned online to raise funds for the program which will provide free eye exams and glasses for children in need.
Wisconsin Vision also presented a $10,000 donation to Gokey's own charity, Sophia’s Heart. Starting in 2011, Wisconsin Vision will begin auctioning off several pairs of Gokey’s eyeglasses each month to help raise money for the free exams and eyewear.
“With Thanksgiving and the holidays coming up, we wanted to use my visit today to help give back,” Gokey says. “We’re so grateful to the many fans that have been so generous with both their time and hearts to support the community.”
So far, Wisconsin Vision estimates they’ve collected 500 pairs of glasses and 800 food items during the past six weeks.
One of the best things about fame, I think, is your ability to do a whole lot of good in the world. Sometimes it takes a while for a newly-famous person to get their footing and start using their powers of celebrity for the better good of mankind.
Danny Gokey, on the other hand, jumped right in and seems to have had his charity that he named in honor of his late wife up and running since before he got his foot in the door and his record on the charts.
Danny headed to a Milwaukee area school recently on behalf of The Sophia's Heart Foundation to spread the word of improving education through art.
Danny says, "Milwaukee was the first area I wanted to help, and the first area I wanted to saturate with Sophia's Heart. The programming we have, the scholarship programs, the music, and arts programs."
Through the help of The Sophia's Heart Foundation, the school's choir program is now able to practice three times a week rather than being phased out like so many other schools have had to do.
