Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan shoot video for I Am A Woman
Red River Entertainment recording artists, Grits & Glamour (Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan), the royal women of country, filmed their “I Am A Woman” (watch live performance) music video to complement their current sophomore single release from the duo's critically acclaimed collaborative album DOS DIVAS (iTunes/Amazon).
The compelling video, directed by Chuck Jones and Keech Rainwater, was filmed at various Nashville locations, including Vanderbilt Medical Center, Trevecca University and Lorrie Morgan’s home. The piece is a true-to-life portrayal of life through the eyes of strong women, surviving and thriving, in “today’s world”—as wives, mothers, best friends, career professionals and brave souls. Co-written by Grits & Glamour band member, and close personal friend, Mary Sue England alongside hit writer Thom Shephard, “I Am A Woman” paints a stunning portrait of the “every day woman” as an anthem of strength, endurance and resilience for women of all ages and all walks of life.
The video is poised to air on television networks across the nation and abroad.

With the tragic passing of legend George Jones, Country music now has a void.
Who can possibly fill his shoes? With the Possum no longer blessing us with his gorgeous voice, who is now the best living Country singer?
Well, Brad Paisley recently weighed in on the topic (in an interview with Country 92.5), and he says Carrie Underwood is the best. Do you think he's right on the money?

Wow, we should all be so lucky as to have Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan sing happy birthday to us.
This past Wednesday, August 8, Country Music Hall of Famer Mel Tillis celebrated his 80th birthday.
Tillis celebrated his 8th decade of life with a private party held at Honky Tonk Central, located on Broadway in the heart of Nashville, Tennessee.
About 400 of Tillis' closest friends packed the party including daughter Pam Tillis, Charley Pride, Lorrie Morgan, Bobby Bare, Lee Brice, Jerrod Niemann, Alabama's Jeff Cook, Eddie Raven, Jimmy C. Newman, Ira Dean, Meghan Linsey of Steel Magnolia, Bobby Goldsboro, Williams & Ree, Scotty Emerick, comedian Lonnie Shorr, former Dallas Cowboys football coach Barry Switzer, producers Buddy Cannon and Harold Shedd, GAC Headline Country host Storme Warren and many more.
Tillis and his band, the Statesiders, treated partygoers to a live performance, prompting Pam Tillis, Charley Pride, Jeff Cook and others to join the country music legend onstage.
Check out the video below of Pam and Lorrie having fun serenading Mel.
Exciting news for all you hot country gals from yesteryear fans out there.
Pam Tillis and Lorrie Morgan are apparently working on an album together.
While working on my new page of country stars' Twitter and Facebook account links, I came across Lorrie Morgan's website, which has been redesigned BTW, and found on her news section a happy bit of news...that she and Pam Tillis, who are on tour together currently on the Grits & Glamour tour, are also working on a new album of duets.
Fun.
I am currently working on a new album of duets with Pam Tills, set to be released this summer! Together, we are co-writing songs for the project and selecting material from some of Nashville's hit songwriters. The album is in support of our current tour, Grits & Glamour. Each night Pam and me share the stage with our fabulous band! I am proud to say that Grits & Glamour is one of the most succesful tours of the 2011-12 season. The tour has been selling out in advance at Performing Arts Centers and Casinos across North America. I hope you have the opportunity to see me on the road and I can't wait to share the new album with you!
You can visit Lorrie's website events page for a full list of dates on the Grits & Glamour tour.
The "New Kid in Town", Scotty McCreery has made his mark on the country music world since his 2011 win on American Idol. His debut album, "Clear As Day" brought us two smash hits.
The album’s debut single, “I Love You This Big,” became a Top 15 hit and enjoyed the highest-charting debut for a new artist since at least 1984, while the video for the song hit No. 1 in just a week after its release. He recorded his debut album while starring in the American Idols Live! Tour, which Pollstar ranked as one of the nation’s Top 15 tours. He followed that up with "The Trouble With Girls."

A new musicl festival has been added to the summer's never ending list of things to do. The Inaugural "Juke Box Music Festival" will take place in Anderson, CA from July 20-22. This event is sporting some big names other than Scotty's, who will headline on Friday night on the Headliner Stage. Saturday on that same Headliner Stage is Joe Nichols & Sunday is Alan Jackson.
On the Grand Stand Stage there are some very impressive guest's. Friday night is Mark Chestnut, Saturday Kellie Pickler and Sunday Ricky Skaggs & Pam Tillis. Times are leveled so as not cross over to the Headliner stage performances. I am very much liking the sound of this impressive good old country music line-up. Tickets are on sale now and are going fast. To learn more about the Juke Box Music Festival head on over to their site and get ready to kick up your heels. http://jukeboxmusicfestival.com/
Don't really hear much about Pam Tillis anymore which makes me sad because I really liked her. In fact, I still have Sweetheart's Dance on tape floating around here somewhere.
Well Pam as well as several other performers are heading to Washington, D.C. to perform for wounded veterans at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center today. The group will also have a Q&A session with the troops.
The group are part of the Songwriters Guild of America's "Creativity Program for Recuperating Soldiers" that encouarages the "creative exchanges between visiting singer-songwriters and those wounded veterans who want to better understand the creative process and hope to learn more about the craft of songwriting from high-level music professionals."
Sounds like a good cause to me. To find out more, go to the Guild's website here.
Ha ha, yeah I wish. Actually the father/daughter duo are hitting the road for a Christmas Tour this year and their first tour stop happens to be on my birthday. Hey, I'm nearly 34, I gotta take what I can get.
The two will also be joined on stage by Pam’s brother, Mel Tillis, Jr., and baby sister, Carrie April Tillis.
“A Tillis Family Christmas” is a lifetime of Christmas memories set to music. The Tillises have been celebrating Christmas on stage as individuals and as a family for over 20 years. Former CMA Entertainer of the Year, award winning comedian, Songwriter’s Hall of Fame member and part-time movie star, Mel Tillis, and his two-time Grammy Award winning daughter, Pam Tillis, welcome you to a night of fun and poignancy, from the silly to the sacred.
This year, Mel will be releasing his first ever Christmas album entitled “Snowflake,” and Pam will be showcasing songs from her 2007 holiday release, “Just in Time for Christmas,” along with many of their chart-topping country hits.
