This morning, Travis Tritt linked to a Facebook post that announced that he had joined a movie as a narrator.
Well not just any narrator, but The Narrator.
You know it's an important part when they capitalize it.

Here's a question for you ... how much would you be willing to pay for a picture with your favorite star? For me these days I could swing maybe $4.95, anything more than that and I'd be cutting into the food and toilet paper budget.
But I guess it's all relative.
One Travis Tritt fan recently put up a whopping $10,000 for a picture with the star. It was all for a great cause, though, so despite what you're thinking the fan wasn't actually completely insane.

This past Saturday evening in Denver - I played a private Charity event to benefit the America Cancer Society. This is Jim Humphrey who bought the guitar at auction. He made another $10,000 donation to The American Cancer Society in my name for the opportunity to take the other photo after the show. I couldn't pass up an offer like that to contribute to such a good cause and I / The Cancer Society appreciate his thoughtful generosity !
What a great reason to spend an insanely large amount of money. Very cool.

As if it were a surprise to anyone, the force that is Florida Georgia Line remains at #1 on Hot Country Songs yet again this week with ‘Cruise’(remix featuring Nelly). In addition, it remains at #1 on Country Digital Songs too, while their latest single ‘Round Here’ is at #6 on the same chart, #16 on Country Airplay and #8 on Hot Country Songs. Their album ‘Here’s To The Good Times’ stays at #1. Could it become a possibility that they end up holding both the #1 and #2 spots on the sales charts? Quite easily, in a couple of weeks’ time.
Blake Shelton also stands in the running for the soundtrack of the summer, ‘Boys Round Here’ (featuring Pistol Annies and friends) at #2 on Country Digital Songs, but falling to #4 on Hot Country Songs, while his latest single ‘Mine Would Be You’ not yet charting on Country Airplay top 25. In contrast, Hunter Hayes is still rising with ‘I Want Crazy’, taking the #2 spot on Hot Country Songs this week while he holds onto #3 on Country Digital Songs. He stays at #6 on Country Airplay, and #4 on Top Country Albums with the ‘Encore’ edition of his self-titled debut album, which still lags behind Blake Shelton’s ‘Based On A True Story…’, standing strong at #2.

Travis Tritt, one of Country music's most-beloved "bad boys," has released a
cover of "Sometimes Love Just Ain't Enough," which he
performs in a duet with his 15-year-old daughter, Tyler Reese. Written by Patti
Smyth and Glen Burtnik, the famous rock ballad first
appeared on Smyth's self-titled 1992 album, on which she sang the successful
single with Don Henley. Along with his daughter Tyler, Tritt takes a Country
turn on this new version, which is the first single the entertainer has released
on Country radio in five years. The song is available via iTunes, and the video
premiered on Travis' YouTube channel, http://www.youtube.com/travistrittofficial.
Wow, how scary. When you're on a boat with your kids it's usually sunburn and drowning you worry about, but you may want to watch out for those propellers too.
The National Enquirer (via Contact Music) is reporting that over the summer Travis Tritt, his wife Theresa, and three children went out to Lake Blue Ridge in Georgia for a little boating fun.
Their 12-year-old son Tristan decided he wanted to swim and jumped in. That's when the horror began as Tristan's foot was sucked into the spinning propeller.
Travis helped pull the boy back into the boat and rushed him to the nearest hospital where doctors were able to stitch the deep wounds up.
Reportedly Theresa shared the news and pictures on Facebook, although I haven't been able to find a Facebook page for her to see if this is true or not.
She reportedly said, "Cut down to the bone!! Doctors can't explain how the bone didn't get shattered or cut in two."
"We are sooooo (sic) blessed today 'cause it could have been a terrible day... It is truly a great day to be alive."
Lucky indeed.
Jackie Evancho, Michael Grimm, Prince Poppycock - America's Got Talent 2010
Despite the fact that I was totally Team Poppycock (yeah, I said that out loud) during last season's America's Got Talent, I was really, really happy when Michael Grimm won. I thought he was a really talented guy and seemed sweet.
Well now his talent's being put to the test with his new album "Michael Grimm," in stores now. Michael's a bluesy, rocking kind of guy, but if you look closely on his CD you will see a familiar name listed...Travis Tritt.
Tritt teamed up with Michael for the Lynyrd Skynyrd cover Simple Man.

Got a great email from Matt with the above picture letting me know that Tarvis Tritt recently had the honor of becoming an honorary police officer.
Travis Tritt was made an honorary police sergeant by the Granville Police Department in Granville, West Virginia. He was the headline performer in July of 2009 at the annual motorcycle ralley in Morgantown, WV other wise known as "Mountainfest". Presenting him with a certificate, badge, and sergeant stripes were Sergeant Matt Allen (on the right) and Sergeant Brad Wright (on the left) of the Granville Police Department.
Nice to see Travis Tritt back in the news again. Okay, this isn't a good reason to be in the news, but hey, even bad press is still press.
A new federal lawsuit was filed on Friday in Manhattan against Travis Tritt by Clair Bros. Audio Enterprises who says the singer owes more than $418,000 after failing to pay for the company's sound services.
According to the NY Daily News, Tritt's company, Tritt Inc. agreed to the company's rates back in 2006 but since then have only payd $11,888 on a $430,657 bill - despite the 65 invoices Clair sent.

I don't often hear much about Travis Tritt anymore, so I was actually happy to hear he's still touring and making music. I've always liked me some Tritt so I'm happy when I hear news about him.
